LanternGlow provides travel guides, paid itinerary reviews, travel advice and in-trip support, and help planning tailor-made trips through introductions to licensed travel agencies. Updated 2 November 2026.
Using the guides
Travel conditions, app features, booking rules and public policies can change. Check the relevant authority or provider before making a decision that depends on a particular requirement, price or opening time.
The published guides describe possible ways to plan a trip. Any individual review is limited to the questions, itinerary and checks agreed for that task.
Travel tools
The tools help you display information or check a plan against the stated data. A dietary card communicates your needs but does not certify ingredients or kitchen practices. Visa and transit results are planning checks, not immigration advice or permission to enter; follow the official policy and the permission issued at the border. Holiday results distinguish festival and statutory dates from published holiday adjustments; crowd guidance is a general planning judgement.
Reviews, travel advice and in-trip support
You can email an existing itinerary for review, ask a few specific planning questions (including a question I put to a Chinese-speaking provider for you), book in-trip support for days you’re in China, or send a general question or correction. Each request is assessed individually. Sending an enquiry doesn’t book a service.
Before work starts, both sides agree the scope, written result or support dates, price, delivery time, any provider-contact attempts and how follow-up questions will be handled. There is no online checkout. The trial prices on the contact page are a guide; the agreed quote sets the final price. Payment is by Wise, Payoneer, Alipay or WeChat Pay, as set out in the agreed quote, and work starts once it has been paid.
An itinerary review provides comments, suggested changes and open questions. Travel advice provides written answers, any provider’s reply and what remains unresolved. The result distinguishes published-source checks, any direct provider contact and information still to confirm.
In-trip support covers the agreed days, 09:00–23:00 Beijing time, by iMessage, WhatsApp or email. I usually reply within one to two hours, but replies aren’t instant or guaranteed within a set time. It doesn’t include emergency help, payments or bookings made on your behalf, or meeting in person. In an emergency, contact the local emergency services (110 for police, 120 for an ambulance) or your embassy.
Outside in-trip support, email is for planning ahead. I usually reply within one working day (Beijing time), but this isn’t a guaranteed response time. See Contact for what to send.
Tailor-made trips through a travel agency
I help clarify your requirements, shape a route and find a licensed travel agency suited to the trip. Agencies are matched to individual enquiries. I identify the proposed agency and ask your permission before sharing your requirements. The agency must confirm its company details and licence covering the travel services it proposes to provide.
Your travel-services contract is with the named travel agency. It provides the quote, signs the contract with you, receives your trip payments directly and is responsible for arranging and delivering the agreed travel services. Its contract governs the itinerary, included and excluded services, payment schedule, changes, cancellation, refunds and any local providers it uses. I provide planning and communication; LanternGlow is not a travel agency and does not sell or operate tours or collect trip payments.
The initial consultation is free and each trip is quoted individually. The agency’s quote is the price you pay for the services specified in it. I may receive a commission from the agency for planning and coordination; any such commission is included in that quoted price. You do not pay LanternGlow a separate coordination fee for this service. Read the commission disclosure.
The agency confirms availability, the guide language, inclusions and exclusions before you book. A trip enquiry does not automatically book a separate paid review, advice session or support day with me. Any such additional service requires a separate agreement.
Refunds and responsibility
The following refund terms apply to my itinerary reviews, travel advice and in-trip support. They do not set the cancellation or refund terms of travel services booked with an agency; those are in your contract with that agency.
- Before work starts: a full refund.
- After work has started but before delivery: a 50% refund.
- After delivery: no refund. If something agreed in the quote was missed, I’ll revise the result once at no charge.
- In-trip support: days cancelled before they begin are refunded in full; a day that has started is treated as delivered.
Refunds are paid by the method you used, within seven days of the request. Transfer fees charged by the payment service aren’t refundable.
Reviews, advice and support are suggestions to help you plan. You stay responsible for your own bookings, documents and decisions. I’m not responsible for decisions or changes made by airlines, rail operators, hotels, attractions, tour operators, border officials or other third parties, including visa or entry decisions, delays, cancellations, closures and price changes. My total liability for any task is limited to the fee you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
Third-party bookings
LanternGlow doesn’t take travel bookings. If you follow a booking link, you book with the provider under its terms. Contact that provider about confirmation, payment, changes and refunds. A provider’s reply to a question describes their answer at that time; the booking and service remain between you and that provider.
